Substation "Saratovskaya"

Replacing equipment that had been in operation for over 50 years eliminated the capacity shortage in the city's power supply centers and significantly increased the reliability of the power supply. Stanislav Pichugin served as the project manager. As part of the comprehensive reconstruction of the 220/110/35 kV «Saratovskaya» substation «Energia Yuga» installed two new power transformers, reconstructed the 35 kV outdoor switchgear, replaced the ground wire on the 160 km long 220 kV Saratovskaya-Saratovskaya Hydroelectric Power Station (HPP) overhead line, and completed construction, installation, and commissioning of a controlled ice-melting rectifier unit. As noted by Alexey Khasay, the Chief Engineer of «Energia Yuga», this was the first time this equipment to be used at the Main Power Networks Volga. The new system has passed all necessary testing on-site. It will significantly reduce the risk of power line failures during adverse weather conditions during autumn and winter seasons. The large-scale reconstruction of the «Saratovskaya» substation has eliminated the capacity shortage in the city's power supply centers and significantly improved reliability of the power supply.
